On May 23, 2023 the second Webinar “Sustainable Language & Culture Education in EU” was held in a blended mode both on the Zoom platform and offline within the project “Sustainable Language Education and Media: Bridging the Gap Between EU-Ukraine with the support of the Erasmus+ Programme of the European Union (Applied Linguistics Department, Lesya Ukrainka Volyn National University, Lutsk, Ukraine).
The aim of the webinar was to attract attention of Ukrainian beneficiaries on the importance of sustainable approach to the language education and introduce them to the new possibilities it can give.
Among the keynote speakers were:
1. prof. Iryna Biskub, Head of the Applied Linguistics Department, Coordinator of the SLEMBG Jean Monnet Module, Lesya Ukrainka Volyn National University (Lutsk, Ukraine)
2. prof. David Conte Imbert, Vice Dean for Bachelor in Cultural Studies, University of Carlos III of Madrid (Madrid, Spain)
3. associate professor Anna Danylchuk, Lesya Ukrainka Volyn National University (Lutsk, Ukraine)
4. analyst at Rector`s Bureau, Marta Sydoruk, Lesya Ukrainka Volyn National University (Lutsk, Ukraine).
PhD students, undergraduate students, teaching professionals from the Ukrainian and Spanish universities got a chance to discuss and compare the Ukrainian and Spanish systems of language and culture education, as well as to exchange experience in applying the principles of sustainability in designing various university courses. In the end of the discussion the participants compiled the collective list of the EU values to be encountered in modern educational system of Ukraine.
