SLEMBG: 3rd Year Launch

On Tuesday, March 12 the 3rd group of students started their educational journey towards understanding the most essential aspects of modern EU language education and integration of media standards and strategies into EU-Ukraine cooperation. Third year into full-scale war of Russia against Ukraine, the knowledge of EU educational, cultural and communication tendencies appears to be in big demand among Ukrainian students/ Over 50 students signed up for the SLEMBG course in 2024.

“Sustainable Language Education and Media: Bridging the Gap Between EU-Ukraine” (SLEMBG) is a project that logically continues and develops the results of our 2017-2020 JM Module “European Union Language Policy” (587264-EPP-1-2017-1-UA-EPPJMO-MODULE). Based on the collected feedback, and taking into account the need for political and educational reforms in Ukraine in the process of EU integration, we offer a larger-scale project. The module will introduce Ukrainian undergraduate and PhD students to the standards and opportunities of sustainable education standards, with a special focus on language education.
In the name of our project – “Sustainable Language Education and Media: Bridging the Gap Between EU-Ukraine”, we define its main objective – to bridge the existing gap between the Ukrainian and EU understanding of sustainability in education and media.
Interactive lectures and discussions will be taking place every week in online mode on Microsoft Teams official platform of Lesya Ukrainka Volyn National University until the end of spring semester. Course participants will also be offered an opportunity to join a webinar and international conference within the framework of JM Module.
