In June 2022, the “Sustainable Language Education: Bridging the Gap Between EU-Ukraine” project hosted a pivotal webinar titled “Ukraine’s Integration into the European Education Area.” This event aimed to explore the strategies and initiatives necessary for aligning Ukraine’s educational system with European standards, fostering greater integration and cooperation.
The webinar brought together educators, policymakers, and experts from Ukraine and the EU to discuss critical issues, including the adoption of European educational practices, enhancing language education, and promoting media literacy. The event united 68 participants (undergraduate students, phD students, academicians) from all over Ukraine. Among the speakers: professor, head of the Applied Linguistics Department and Coordinator of the SLEMBG project Iryna Biskub; professor Carlos Moreiro Gonzales from the Carlos II University I, Madrid, Spain; associate professors Anna Danylchuk and Sydoruk Marta.
Speakers highlighted the importance of sustainable education practices and the role of digital tools in modernizing the educational landscape.
Participants engaged in interactive sessions, sharing insights and best practices to facilitate Ukraine’s educational integration. The event underscored the significance of collaboration between Ukrainian and European institutions, paving the way for continuous improvement and innovation in education.
This webinar marked a significant step towards Ukraine’s deeper integration into the European Education Area, reflecting the broader goals of the SLEMBG project to strengthen ties between Ukraine and the EU through education and cultural exchange. By fostering dialogue and collaboration, the webinar contributed to the ongoing efforts to enhance the quality and sustainability of Ukraine’s education system, ensuring it meets European standards and supports the country’s long-term development goals.
